About Me
I’m running for re-election because I believe our coastal and island communities deserve someone who understands this way of life firsthand and shows up to fight for it every day. I was born and raised here, worked on the water as a sternman, raised my two boys here as a single mom, and I know the challenges working families are facing — from housing and transportation to protecting our fisheries and keeping our communities sustainable for the next generation.
In Augusta, I’ve focused on practical, everyday issues that make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s supporting working waterfronts, improving ferry and transportation infrastructure, helping create affordable housing, or standing up for fishing families, I believe good representation means listening first and then getting to work on solutions that actually help people.
One thing I hear again and again is that I’m accessible and engaged. I take that seriously. I believe representation should be personal. I spend time in the communities I serve, listen to concerns directly, and work hard to make sure island and coastal voices are heard in Augusta.

“Holly is not only dedicated, she is our most accessible representative and consistently engages with our community on a very personal level. As an island Mainer, she uniquely understands our community, its vulnerabilities and strengths. We are very lucky to have her!”
— Aviva Alexandra Rahmani, Vinalhaven resident, artist/advocate

“Holly’s towns are seeing real-life improvements because of the legislation she’s sponsored. She really advocates for preserving her constituents’ way of life in Augusta. Her every-day-life type legislation has helped so many issues in our area. Housing, fishery opportunity, infrastructure. It’s the pragmatic legislation that we’ve been needing."
— Travis Fifield, Stonington Selectperson; 4th Generation Owner/Operator, Fifield Lobster:

“Holly Eaton is a listener. She listens to the community’s concerns, digests them and figures out a way she can assist. She understands Island communities and the unique problems we face.”
— Peggi Stevens, former First Selectperson, Isle au Haut
What Matters Most
Protecting Fisheries & Working Waterfronts
I’ve lived the realities of Maine’s fishing communities, and I know how important these jobs and traditions are to our future. In Augusta, I fight to protect working waterfronts, preserve fishery opportunity, and make sure the people who make a living on the water have a strong voice at the table. Serving on the Marine Resources Committee means I can get to work on the issues that matter most to you.
Affordable Housing & Strong Communities
Too many people who grew up here can’t afford to stay here. I’ve worked to support practical housing solutions that fit our communities, including redeveloping existing properties into affordable housing so working families, seniors, and young people can continue to call these islands and coastal towns home.
Transportation & Island Infrastructure
Reliable transportation is essential for island and coastal communities. I’ve worked closely on ferry service, seawall improvements, and infrastructure projects like the Deer Isle Causeway because access, safety, and connectivity directly affect our economy, emergency services, and daily life. In my service on the Transportation Committee we’ve tackled issues like keeping ferries berthed on the islands overnight to ensure access to emergency medical services. That’s the everyday lawmaking I’m proud to work on for you.
Fighting for Strong Rural Schools
As a mom of two boys in our local public schools and a former school board member, I know how important strong schools are to the future of our communities. Coastal and island schools face unique challenges — from transportation and staffing to rising costs and unequal funding formulas. I’ll continue advocating for rural schools so students, families, and educators have the support they need to succeed, no matter where they live.
Protecting Healthcare & Emergency Access
Living in coastal and island communities means access to healthcare can never be taken for granted. I’ve worked to support emergency access, rural healthcare, and solutions that help people stay in the communities they call home. From elder care to emergency services, I believe where you live shouldn’t determine whether you can access the care you need.
Accessible, Practical Representation
I believe being a good representative starts with listening. I stay connected to the people I serve, show up in the community, and focus on practical, everyday issues instead of politics for politics’ sake. My job is to make sure coastal and island voices are heard and respected in Augusta.
